the drainage of water is not sufficient; can trees be planted here and do they have a chance of survival?

Answer
Dear Ino Meijer,
There are certainly trees that are suitable for surviving in wet places – trees that like to stand with their feet in the wet every now and then. I am thinking in the first place of many willow species, poplar and alder. Just look at meadows: you will often see that, certainly in the past, farmers planted willows along canal sides, pools or the lowest, wet points of a meadow: they grow well and quickly, and absorb a lot of water.
Best regards
Bert
