This insect perched on a wall in the garden. I have never seen such an insect before. What species would it be and would this be a native species?

This is probably about a Pale cockroach (Ectobius pallidus). This is a species found in Europe, both around the Mediterranean and the United Kingdom. They are mainly found in forests and heathland, but can also be found in cities. Normally, these cockroaches live outside, and they will do no harm.
