I would like to know the probability percentage.
Answer
No scientist likes absolute certainty. Yet scientists are certain that evolution exists (insofar as we are sure that we ourselves exist and that the whole world is not an illusion). So I would still give 99.99999%. Of course there are still many missing links and uncertainties within the theory of evolution, and everyone is free to believe that there is or was also divine influence. So there need not be a contradiction between faith and science. However, the creationists who completely reject evolution have no scientific justification for it. Arguments for evolution are obvious: we know that we can breed according to certain characteristics (just think of dog breeds). We know that there are spontaneous mutations, which sometimes turn out to be hereditary. We see so many examples of ‘remnants’ of evolution in animal species that still possess characteristics but no longer need them (for example, in the skeleton of a snake there are impulses for limbs), etc…
Personally, I’m a little more certain of evolution than of whether the sun will rise tomorrow (I wish an alien spaceship just had to blow up the sun last night).
