This flower bloomed in our garden last week. We would like to know what kind of flower it is because we cannot identify it. Is it some kind of orchid?

This is a tiger flower (Tigridia pavonia), a bulbous plant from Mexico. She belongs to the Iris family (Iridaceae)…. not an orchid so … but beautiful flowers!
