This answer may blow your mind, but everything, really EVERYTHING, is made up of atoms. A flower, a sandwich with cheese, your bicycle, your football, the dust on the cupboard, the wind in your face,… EVERYTHING. There are, of course, many different types of atoms. You can view every thing on Earth (and beyond!) as a kind of big puzzle with all kinds of different atoms. How you arrange the atoms and which atoms you use determine what kind of substance you will get (eg wood, plastic, water). All these different substances are then combined into a larger whole (eg into a flower).
