How do I create the perfect conditions for growing algae?

Good day,

For a school project we have to grow algae in the shortest possible time. With wax research on the internet we have found the following data about the algae that we have to grow. We just don’t know how to get these conditions. Could you help with that?

Background info algae (species: Chlorella Sorokiniana)

T= 20 and 40 degrees Celsius

pH= 6-7.5

Light= 100-300 micromol photons/m2/s

Carbon Dioxide: ?? 2-5% CO2 in the gas phase should suffice

We have also read on sites that these factors also influence each other.

Thanks in advance!

Answer

Dear Remco

The easiest thing you can do is just take a goblet that is transparent. Add some plant fertilizer here and you can start growing. Make sure that the jar is sufficiently exposed to a window, but preferably no direct sunshine from spring to autumn. Algae are shade plants.
