What do baby fish eat?

In particular, what do baby guppies eat?

Answer

hey jothi,

for your guppy boy you can use the regular food you can find in any pet store. Flakes are ideal, because you can rub them with your fingers before putting them in the aquarium. You can also put them in a syringe with water and spray them between the young fish, but that is not really necessary; Guppies are easy to raise and will find their own food. It also works with pellets, as long as some remain in the aquarium long enough so that they decompose before they are possibly eaten by larger fish.
For rapid growth, you can provide a sufficiently large aquarium, warm water (22-24 °C is perfect) and it is best to feed a small amount several times a day instead of a larger amount once a day, but as said grow guppies also readily in less ideal conditions.
Also make sure you have enough hiding places for your small fish (flower pots, plants, stones,…) if they are together with larger fish (such as adult guppies), otherwise they could be mistaken for fish food themselves!
For a lot more information you can do a google search for ‘breeding guppies’.

Have fun and good luck!
