If you have studied in the 3rd degree human sciences, can you also go to specializations such as insurance in higher school…?

Can you do something like insurance after secondary education in humanities?

Answer

Hi Jeroen,

The answer is short and sweet: yes.

With the description ‘fields such as insurance’ I assume that you mean all fields offered in departments such as Commercial Sciences and Business Administration (Marketing-Sales, Marketing-Communication, Logistics, Finance and Insurance, Accountancy-Tax, Event Management…). All these courses fall under the main diploma ‘Bachelor in Business Management’.

With all these courses you start from scratch for the courses specific to your specialization. For the French and English language courses, you are expected to have mastered the level of secondary.

I myself teach, among other things, students of the first year Marketing (with specialization in marketing communication). Some of the students (previously from TSO-Handel) have already seen more of this than other students (previously ASO students). But we still start from scratch. What one may have already seen in secondary school is so basic that this is really not an advantage (or obstacle).

All that matters for these directions is a basic interest in the field of study. Do you like numbers and are you administratively strong? Then Accountancy – Taxation might be something for you. Are you interested in knowing why a consumer chooses a certain product or do you wonder why Coca Cola is on Facebook? Then choose Marketing-Communication. And so on.

Good luck with your further studies!
