5 adjustments and features that the new Apple TV 4K has

Two weeks ago, the new Apple TV 4K was announced through a press release. The multimedia box does not seem to be such a big upgrade at first glance, but does certain things slightly differently than its predecessor. It is for sale from today.

Apple TV 4K (2022): 5 mighty new features

Unlike almost every iPad model, the Apple TV 4K has come down in price. You are now tapping the smart box for an amount of 169 euros. With this you get the Wi-Fi model at home. If you also want to have an Ethernet connection, then you currently have to pay 189 euros.

But before you get started with this new product, it is best to know exactly which things are new. I’ll list five of them:

#1 Thinner and lighter

Let’s start with the design. The Apple TV 4K (2022) features an improved design. The device does not look very different from its predecessor, but it has become a lot more compact.

The new model is not only 12% thinner, but also 50% lighter. Easier to put away in your set-up, which the Apple TV 4K owes to the A15 Bionic Chip. But more on that later.

#2 Apple TV 4K supports HDR10+

On the software side, Apple has also added HDR10+ support this time. This functionality raises the quality of the image, in addition to Dolby Vision, in supported applications.

Better image quality, provided the right television, therefore seems to be a fact.

#3 More storage and memory

The Apple TV 4K (2022) has both more RAM and storage capacity. The previous model had to make do in this area with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

This time, as a consumer, you have a product with 4GB of RAM and no less than 128GB of storage capacity.

#4 Apple TV 4K has A15 Bionic

Hold on tight: the new Apple TV is 50% faster than its predecessor. The cause: the addition of the new A15 Bionic chip. The previous model carried an A12 Bionic with it.

According to Apple, you see the difference mainly in the response speed of the system, but certainly also in the graphics performance. For example, the new Apple TV 4K is 30% better than its predecessor.

#5 Siri Remote without charger

The new Siri Remote has left the Lightning port behind and now runs entirely on USB-C. Only downside is that a charger for the remote is missing. So you will have to buy it yourself.
