the operation of a digipas has already been explained . But how come you can work with different benches with one and the same box? eg dexia AND argenta ?

is this correct ?: the software is from digipas and is therefore bank independent ? but what about the serial number of the box? shouldn’t the bank keep a file of the distributed boxes (and their serial numbers) in order to arrive at a result in their algorithm?

please explain more about this!

Thank you very much, EddyV

Answer

There are indeed digipasses that are bank independent.

Not only Dexia and Argenta, but also Delta Lloyd, for example, Fortis, ING, VDK Spaarbank and Rabobank.be use this digipass. The banks print their logo on the digipass, but you can use it for any of the banks.

The point is that it is not the card reader that must be unique, but the debit card that must be inserted into the card reader. This is easier for the banks, because they already issued debt cards anyway, and now they no longer have to provide unique digipasses. The final number that you type from your digipass to the bank’s website provides the bank with information about which debit card is involved and whether the PIN code has been entered correctly. Identification is no longer done with the digipass, but with the debit card. The digipass is no more than a medium.

You can suddenly also read your proton with these digipasses, which is also a nice bonus.
