Is it true that it is better to leave your computer on instead of turning it off and on?

I once heard that your computer wears out less quickly if you leave it on constantly instead of always turning it on and off. Is this true?

Answer

It is best to switch off a computer when you are not using it, so you save quite a bit on electricity costs. It is indeed true that continuous switching on and off has a limited wear effect. Conversely, however, there are also wear and tear effects if you leave the computer on.
Disabling it is therefore the most appropriate option if you will not use your computer again immediately.

Is it true that it is better to leave your computer on instead of turning it off and on?
