I found these fungi on a piece of wet wood in the garden house. What kind of fungus is this? Only a few mm in size. A Mucor strain?

Answer
Dear Dear,
This is not really a fungus but a myxomycete. Because they resemble molds macroscopically, they are also called slime molds. I suspect that the specimen in your garden house is Comatricha alta, but if you really want to be sure, it is better to contact Myriam de Haan (botanical garden Meise).
