Meet MacOS Ventura
(Image: Apple)
Updating to macOS Ventura has a number of novelties and benefits. But you will be surprised to learn that a number of applications and apps in the update have simply been carried over by Apple from iOS 16. And we are happy with it. Here are our five favourites.
Who would have thought that in some areas Apple’s iOS 16 has better solutions and features that macOS Ventura now enriches? Suddenly a few tweaks have appeared (after your update on your Mac) that really make life better.
Simple iOS 16 apps that enhance macOS Ventura
It may sound a bit bizarre, but the tablet and phone versions of Apple’s OS 16 have a few tricks that are very nice on your Mac. And thank god Apple didn’t try to reinvent the wheel and just released them. They are therefore easy to find on your desktop computer or laptop. Let’s list our favorite things.
#1 The Clock
It sounds very basic, and it may be for some, but we are happy with the clock function on macOS Ventura. It literally has all the features of the clock app on iOS 16, including the World Clock, Alarm, Stopwatch, and Timer. No idea yet how exactly we make this useful, but the option is there.

#2 Is it going to rain? Apple’s Weather app from iOS 16 is now on macOS
Again a simple app that can undoubtedly also be found from third parties. But iOS 16’s uncluttered Weather app packs just the amount of information you need. It gives you a nice overview of a forecast up to 10 days. But if you want more information about the quality of the air, UV and other matters, they are also quickly found.
#3 iMessage is more flexible on macOS Ventura
Okay it’s not really iMessage, but one very useful feature has now been included. You can now quickly ‘retrieve’ a message. This allows you to quickly delete a clumsy error in a message, and adjust it if necessary. You have to be quick, because you don’t have much time.
On the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, you now have two minutes to edit things, and you can make five different edits to your message.

#4 Retract emails in Apple’s macOS Ventura
As in iOS 16 from Apple, you still have the chance to fish back an email on macOS Ventura. Then you must be fast. You have about ten seconds. If you have sent something that is not quite correct, you will see an Undo Send option in your email at the bottom left.
If you need a little longer, you can set that in the Settings, Compose and Undo.
#5 Sending Mail in the future
A very useful extra feature is scheduling mail. So if you want to send something out or respond to something, you can schedule it now. When you are in your mail, you only have to click on the small arrow down and you can choose the time of sending yourself.
They are all seemingly simple apps and additions (that’s what they are), but there’s no question that they’re useful on macOS Ventura. So be sure to play with it for a while.
