A tree needs to be cut down, but there is a pigeon’s nest in it. How long do I have to wait?

Asker: Ginnie, 56 years old

Answer

When egg-laying is complete, a pigeon incubates for an average of 17-18 days. After this the young hatch and it takes about 4 weeks for them to fledge.

I think it’s admirable of you to wait to cut down until the youngsters have fledged!
