It’s easy to save the people you frequently interact with as contacts on an Android smartphone or tablet. You don’t have to remember that person’s phone number.
Save to Google Account
If you save the contacts in your Google account, you can access the contact details from any device.
- Open the app overview by tapping apps or swipe from bottom to top on the screen (Android 8.0 or later).
- Tap on Contacts.
- Tap the orange circle with a plus sign.
- You can choose whether to save the contact on the phone, on the SIM card, or on your Google account. We choose to link the contact to the Google account. If this is the first contact you create, tap on the ‘Save contact in’ window google and then on Selecting.
- Didn’t see the ‘Save contact in’ window? Then tap above the ‘Name’ field on the gray bar in which one of the three options is selected. Here you can also make your choice google to make.
- In the ‘Name’ field, type the name of the contact.
- Then tap the “Phone” field and enter the phone number.
- This number is automatically labeled ‘Mobile’. You can change this. Tap to the right of the text field Mobile and select the desired label from the list by tapping on it.
- Add more phone numbers by tapping the green plus sign to the right of “Phone”.
- Swipe further down if necessary to enter additional information, such as your contact’s email address.
- Tap on Save when you are done.
The contact is now saved. You can then use this information to call, message or email someone.
