Since iOS 17, Apple has renewed the telephone app with personal posters of contacts, with which you can express yourself in a new way. You decide how you come into the picture with someone else, which gives incoming conversations a whole new look.
You can compile the posters yourself and provide your own photo or memoji. You can use it extensively and use colorful fonts that splash from the screen. You can also use posters of contacts in the contacts app and shown if you are called by third-party phone apps.
Posters of contacts
In previous versions of iOS it was already possible to automatically share your profile photo with other Apple users who are included in your contact list. From iOS 17 this will be expanded with beautiful screen -filling posters.
The posters of contacts is a creative function that is meant to make iOS more personal. This way not only your profile photo is shared, but also your poster with your contact list. When you call someone, the software will automatically display your poster screen -filling, making a call immediately more personal.
Set a personal contact poster
- Open the contacts app
- Navigate to your personal contact card
- Tap ‘Change’ and then on your profile photo (or poster)
- Then choose ‘Create new ones’ or tap the Plus button
- Then edit the poster
You can then determine what your poster should look like, so you can opt for a photo, memoji or monogram. You can then adjust the font of your name and certain (photo) effects. Tap ready if you are satisfied to save the poster.
Then you can also edit your profile photo in addition to your poster. This can also be done afterwards by activating the processing module for posters via the steps above or tap ‘adjust’ under an existing poster to edit the poster or only the profile photo.
Delete contact poster
- Open the contact in the contacts app
- Tap ‘Change’
- Then tap ‘Change’ again under the poster
- Wipe up the contact poster
- Remove the poster
Share automatic poster
Do you want to automatically share your poster with other Apple users? Then you can activate this by opening your contact card in the contacts application. Then tap ‘Photo and Poster van Contact’, switch on the option, adjust any data and choose a partial option. You can also set this via Settings â–¸ Messages â–¸ Share name and photo.
- Share automatically: The poster can be seen for people you call or send an iMessage who are in possession of an iPhone. Also people you have added on the basis of telephone number or e-mail address.
- Only contacts: The poster is only shared with the people in your contact list.
- Always ask: iOS will ask if you want to share the poster with the person with whom you have contact, for example in the Message app.
Set posters for other contacts
Creating posters of contacts is not only possible for your own contact card, but also for others. To do this, open a person’s contact card and tap ‘Change’. You can then adjust the profile photo and/or poster. Handy if you are not satisfied with the contact poster of a particular person.
