Apple had already released an update for the AirPods Pro 2 last week and now it has happened again. The new update is called 6A305, but Apple has not provided any further information about what is new. However, it is always important to install these updates as soon as possible. Bugs and problems are often fixed in the update.
Your AirPods will receive the updates automatically when you place them in their charging case. You just never know when exactly this will happen. To check whether your AirPods already have the update, follow the steps below.
Check AirPods firmware
- Open the AirPods charging case and make sure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone;
- Tap ‘Settings’ and your AirPods;
- Scroll down and check the version number next to ‘Version’.
Is 6A305 next to the version number? Then you already have the latest update. Do you find a different version number here? Then you still have to update. You can’t force your AirPods Pro 2 to be updated, but you can take steps to ensure you get the updates as quickly as possible. You do this in the following way.
- Place the AirPods in the charging case;
- Connect the charging cable to the charging case;
- Open the box and let your AirPods connect to your iPhone;
- Close the charging case of your AirPods;
- Place the charging case next to your iPhone and make sure that your iPhone is sufficiently charged.
