The AirPods Pro 2nd generation is equipped with a new charging case with speaker. This speaker is used when searching with Find My AirPods, but also plays a sound effect when you charge the AirPods.
As soon as you charge the AirPods, you will hear a sound indicating that charging has started. Although the sound effect is subtle, not everyone is waiting for such confirmation. In that case, you can turn off the sound when charging.
Turn off AirPods charging sound
- Pair the AirPods Pro 2nd generation with your iPhone
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap your AirPods just below your Apple ID
- The settings of your earphones open
- Deactivate the option ‘Enable charging case sound effects‘
Can’t disable the option? Then you are probably charging your set. Then remove the case from the charger and try again.
Once you disable the option, you will no longer receive a sound confirmation when you charge the AirPods Pro via MagSafe, Qi charger, Apple Watch charger or via the lightning cable.
