AirPods: Turn off Audiomodi and listen to music without audio mode

Since the introduction of the AirPods Pro it was possible to eliminate noise reduction and transparency mode. This allows you to listen to music without a specific audio mode. This is no longer the case since the arrival of adaptive audio, at least standard.

Apple does offer its users the opportunity to disable all Audiomodi, so that you can listen to music with only the AirPods in without extra software additions. We explain how to add the ‘Uit’ option.

Add Airpods from Audiomodus

You can perform the steps below on all AirPods Pro models and the AirPods 4 with noise reduction.

  • Link the AirPods to your iPhone or iPad
  • Open settings
  • Go to the AirPods settings
  • Scroll down and switch on the ‘Luistermodus’ Out’ option

When this option is enabled, the AirPods listening modes contain an option for ‘OFF’. High noise levels are not reduced when the listening mode is set to ‘off’, this is the case with all other sound modes such as noise reduction, transparency and adaptive.

Change AirPods Audiomodus

  • Open the control panel while playing music on the AirPods
  • Put your finger on the volume sliding bar for AirPods
  • Tap the current mode (out / transparency / adaptive / noise reduction)
  • Choose a desired mode
