Albums in Google Photos

Google Photos manages your photos. To this end, Google creates a number of albums by default, based on characteristics such as location or subject. That makes it easier to find your photos. In this tip, we’ll cover using albums through the Google Photos website. Anyone who uses Google Photos on a tablet or smartphone uses the app for this. Here’s how to get to the default albums:

• Go to photos.google.com and click To Google Photos.
• Sign in with your Google account.
• An overview of your photos will open, sorted by date. The most recent photos are at the top.
• If necessary, click on the three dashes in the top left to see the full menu. Click here Albums.

Now you will see some folders like ‘Places’ and ‘Things’, organized by location and subject respectively. The folders are created automatically. To do this, Google Photos analyzes what’s in the photo and the information about the photo (time, place, camera, camera settings). Whether the default albums are filled depends on your photo collection.

In addition to the existing default albums, you can create your own albums. Put the photos in yourself.

• If necessary, click in the menu on the left Albums.
• Click on the top right Create album.

  

• Type a name for the album and click the blue button Add pictures.
• Click on the photos you want to put in the album.
• Then click on the top right Ready.
• The folder is now created and it opens.
• Click on the left arrow at the top left to get to the album overview.

Of course, you can later add or remove photos from the albums you create yourself. Deleting from an album works like this:

• Go to the album from which you want to delete photos.
• Select the photos. (Hover over a photo and click the check mark that appears at the top left of the photo.)
• Click on the three dots at the top right.
• click on Remove from album > Remove.

The photo is removed from the album, but not from your collection of photos. He can therefore still be found in the overview with all photos.

How to add photos to an album:

• Go to the album to which you want to add photos.
• Click the icon of a photo with a plus sign in the top right .
• Select the photos you want to add to an album and click Ready.
