Starting today, you can also use Amazon Prime Video on your Apple TV. The Prime Video app has also received an update, including iPhone X support and an improved search function.
Amazon Prime Video on Apple TV
Amazon Prime Video, the streaming service of the online department store of the same name, can also be viewed on Apple TV from today. Support for Apple’s media player had been rolled out in the US for some time, but now also works in the Netherlands. Google’s Chromecast still doesn’t work with Prime Video; Amazon’s own Fire TV stick, of course.
The iOS app has also been updated. The Prime Video app now makes full use of the screen of the iPhone X. You can also search for films and series on the service via Spotlight. Plus, the Prime Video range is now downloadable to your iPhone or iPad, so you can watch them on the go without an internet connection.

A month ago, Amazon brought the Prime subscription to the Netherlands. In addition to free shipping for a large part of the range, with a Prime membership you also get Prime Video. That makes it even more attractive to take out a subscription, because there are more advantages to it than just streaming video.
Amazon Prime Video not only has to compete against Netflix in the Netherlands, but also competes with services such as Videoland and Uitzending Gemist. You can read whether the video service is worthwhile in our Amazon Prime Video review.
