Google has finally fixed a problem with Android Auto and the Samsung Galaxy S22. For months, users struggled to connect their phone to their car and were presented with a black screen. The 7.7 update of Android Auto now changes that.
Samsung Galaxy S22 and Android Auto
Then you buy a new premium phone and then you have problems connecting it to your car. It’s what happened to Galaxy S22 series users when they wanted to connect their phones with Android Auto. Some phones showed a black screen while others rebooted in the car.
The bug has been dragging on since February of this year and a beta update to version 7.7 of Android Auto didn’t help everyone. With the stable version of that update there should be a solution for everyone, that’s what google says now.
Many users have come up with all sorts of creative solutions in recent months to make the problems stop, but with little result. Another issue with the Galaxy S21 series and Android Auto was also recently resolved, but that flaw was with Samsung’s software, not the car operating system.
Waiting for ‘Coolwalk’
This week also saw the release of the 8.0 beta of Android Auto, but surprisingly it came without the expected ‘Coolwalk’ interface. With Coolwalk, your screen is divided into separate parts. So there is always room for a media player and notifications. The new interface should also make better use of the different aspect ratios in infotainment systems. Coolwalk is yet to roll out this summer, so we’re expecting the interface this month.
