2025 promises to be an interesting Apple year full of new products, software and expansion of current services. More Macs will be equipped with the M4 chip and we can possibly expect a new product: an Apple Smart Hub for your smart home.
In addition to the iPhone 18, the iPhone Air will also make an appearance, including a new thin design. Furthermore, the AirTag 2, AirPods Pro 3, Apple Watch Ultra 3, iPad 11th generation and iPhone SE 4 are expected. Time to list all expectations and bundle them together in an overview.
The information below is based on rumors. Apple has neither confirmed nor denied this. It remains to be seen which products will actually be announced next year.
iPhone SE 4th generation
spring 2025*

Are you waiting for a new iPhone SE? Then you will have to be patient, the 4th generation will not be available until the spring of 2025 at the earliest. The iPhone SE 4 is reportedly equipped with a new design that is comparable to the iPhone 14, but with some adjustments.
This means that the iPhone SE will make the switch to an edge-to-edge screen, Face ID, 48 MP camera and a larger display. The SE may also contain an A17 Pro chip or newer to use Apple Intelligence on this device.
iPad 11th generation
spring 2025*

The iPad is available in different versions. The iPad Pro is mainly intended for professionals and the iPad Air for users who demand just a little more from their tablet. But a great entry-level model is the iPad. If we can believe the rumors, we can expect the iPad 11th generation in 2025.
The 10th generation iPad was released in 2022, but was reduced in price twice last year. This made it unlikely that Apple would update the entry-level model last year. This will probably change in 2025, but the innovations will be limited to a faster processor and a few minor adjustments.
Air Tag 2
spring 2025*

Although Apple has not shared any official figures, we can conclude that the AirTag is a success. The smart tracker is frequently linked to items so that you can determine its location.
The current generation of AirTag was released in 2021 and according to Analyst Ming Chi-kuo and Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, we can expect a new generation in 2025. There will probably be few design changes, but Bloomberg does report that the tracker will be equipped with a U2 chip and some improvements with regard to privacy.
M4 chip for MacBook Air
spring 2025*

According to current rumors, we can expect new Mac computers with Apple’s latest M4 chip in 2025. Apple has already equipped the iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini with the powerful processor and new Macs will be added next year.
For example, the Mac Studio and Mac Pro are equipped with an M4 Ultra chip, a processor that has not yet been announced. The MacBook Air will also make the transition to M4. This would be the first time in years that all Mac computers will be equipped with the same series of processors. Besides a new processor, no other innovations are expected.
Mac Studio and Mac Pro
2nd quarter 2025*

Last fall, Apple already upgraded the necessary Mac computers. For example, the M4 chip was added to the iMac, Mac mini and MacBook Pro, among others. There is a good chance that Apple will equip the Mac Studio with an M4 Ultra processor in 2025.
Apple may add the M4 Ultra to this power machine, but also to the Mac Pro, in the first half of 2025. In addition to the processor upgrade, the Macs will also be equipped with Thunderbolt 5 and other Pro upgrades.
iPhone Air
autumn 2025*
Apple would like to launch a brand new iPhone model next year: the iPhone 17 slim, or will it be the iPhone Air?
This will reportedly be the thinnest iPhone ever and you can expect it alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max in September 2025. The Air model would replace the Plus and will have a slightly smaller screen. We have listed all the details that have been leaked so far for you in the featured article below.
iPhone 17 (Pro)
autumn 2025*

Of course, we can also expect a new iPhone in 2025 and it would have a modified design. Don’t expect a major design change, but rather a refinement. For example, the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro (Max) may have a more scratch-resistant screen and all models may be equipped with a 120Hz screen.
At least the Pro models would also be equipped with a smaller Dynamic Island with possibly a 24-megapixel front camera with a six-element lens. The Pro cameras will probably also be equipped with a 48-megapixel Tetraprism telephoto camera.
Apple Watch
autumn 2025*

Last year, the Apple Watch Series 10 was released with what Apple claims is a completely new, thinner design. The Apple Watch Ultra was not provided with a new model, but with exclusive software updates.
It is expected that Apple will not launch a new Apple Watch series model in 2025, but it will launch a new Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE. Don’t expect major changes, but rather minor refinements. In any case, the Ultra will have an Always-on LTPO3 Retina OLED wide-angle display and super-fast charging.
AirPods Pro 3rd generation
autumn 2025*

The AirPods and AirPods Pro are a huge success and many owners enjoy using the wireless earphones. The AirPods Pro have been on the market since 2019 and the earphones were renewed in 2022. There is a good chance that a successor will be released later this year.
The 3rd generation AirPods Pro will probably retain the current design, but with some minor adjustments. Furthermore, some details have been revealed, such as lossless support and possibly health sensors so that the AirPods Pro can measure your hearing.
Apple Smart Hub
first half of 2025*

It has been rumored for some time that Apple wants to expand their Smart Home platform. Not only with specific software with homeOS, but also with products. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, we can expect a dedicated 6-inch screen for your smart home next year.
This would be a HomePod with a large display, which can be compared to the Google Nest hub. The smart screen should become the central place for your smart home within the Apple ecosystem. The screen provides access to the Home app for operating smart devices, but also various apps.
HomePod mini and Apple TV
According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple has plans to update both the Apple TV 4K and the HomePod mini in 2025. This update is part of a larger strategy to reinvigorate the company’s smart home product offering. The initiative underlines Apple’s ambition to further strengthen its position in the smart home market.
The yet-to-be-released HomePod mini and Apple TV reportedly contain a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi chip developed by Apple. However, by using a custom-designed Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, future Apple smart home devices could work better with each other and potentially sync data faster.
Other expectations
- WWDC 2025 with iOS 19 and more
- Extension for current Apple services
- More languages for Apple Intelligence
- M5 chip series for MacBook Pro
- iPad Air with M3 chip
Apple will undoubtedly have quite a few surprises in store for us. In the coming year we will keep a close eye on the rumors, news and announcements and we will of course keep you informed of all developments.
