Apple has already won several awards with the ‘Shot On iPhone’ campaign. Apple continued with this campaign last year. This is to demonstrate how good an iPhone’s camera is, and not just by using professional photographers.
In 2025, Apple posted several Shot on iPhone videos, in which the Cupertino company shows how good and versatile the iPhone camera is. For example, Apple has published some beautiful short films that were filmed entirely with an iPhone 16 Pro.
The Apple year 2025 depicted using the best videos that Apple has published over the past year. You will see them one more time until the new year; from events to the new iPhone 17 Pro, from Apple Intelligence to software announcements, it was an Appletastic year.
Taken with an iPhone: Last scene
This 27-minute short film, directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda, was shot entirely on the iPhone 16 Pro as part of Apple’s ‘Shot on iPhone’ campaign. The story follows screenwriter Kurata, who is approached by Yui, his granddaughter from the future who travels back 50 years to rewrite the final scene of a TV drama and thus change the future – possibly at the cost of her own existence. The film combines time travel, drama and light comedy, with scenes in Kamakura including a Ferris wheel ride, and emphasizes themes of memory, legacy and transience.
Shot on iPhone: Big man
Big Man is directed by Oscar winner Aneil Karia and stars UK music legend Stormzy. The story follows Tenzman, a worldly-wise musician with a waning career, who unexpectedly meets two enterprising children; together they embark on a journey that changes his life and brings new optimism. The film highlights advanced camera techniques of the iPhone 16 Pro such as Cinematic mode, slow-motion in 4K at 120 fps, good performance in low light, and filming in Apple ProRes Log for high flexibility in post-production.
The film shows a mix of drama and hope, with the compact iPhone camera offering creative freedom for intimate and dynamic scenes, including night shots and trampoline acts. The theme revolves around finding renewed passion and connection despite personal setbacks.
