The AirTag is now a few years old and secretly it is time for a new one. An Apple expert has said when the AirTag 2 will be released.
Apple AirTag 2 is coming (but when is the release?)
We have to be honest: the AirTag is an incredibly useful little gadget. This allows you to always find the AirTag with the Find My app on your iPhone. They are therefore extremely useful, for example, to put one in your suitcase during your holiday or to attach one to the collar of your beloved four-legged friend.
The first AirTag (€ 34.68) was released in 2021 and is now 3.5 years old. That’s why it’s high time for a new version. Fortunately, the release of the Airtag 2 won’t be long in coming, at least if we can believe Mark Gurman.
According to the usually reliable Apple expert, the AirTag 2 will be part of a series of new products that Apple will announce. The entire list of products he says we can expect is:
- MacBook Air (13 and 15 inches) with an M4 chip;
- New iPhone SE;
- A new iPad Air (11 and 13 inches);
- A new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Air;
- The new AirTag.
Unfortunately, Mark Gurman has not provided any further specifications about what we can expect from the AirTag 2, but more will probably be known as the release approaches.
Gurman has previously said something about the next AirTag. He then said that the AirTag 2 was going to have an improved chip that allows you to track its location even better. In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo thinks that the AirTag 2 will have some kind of integration with the Apple Vision Pro upon release. But he did not provide any further information.
There are also no further rumors about the design of the AirTag 2. So the question is whether the current AirTag accessories can still be used with the successor.
