Another delay at Apple Car
According to rumors, Apple has been working on its own car for years, the Apple Car. Apple’s original plan was to make the car fully autonomous. That is why there are already several Apple Cars driving around in California. The project has now been delayed several times, as a result of which the release of the Apple Car has now been postponed again.

According to the latest rumors, the Apple Car was scheduled for 2026, with tests on the final design scheduled to begin a year earlier. This now appears to have come too early, so the release of the Apple Car has been postponed to 2028. To meet that date, Tim Cook reportedly had to make concessions, making the Apple Car less advanced than planned.
Apple Car no longer autonomous
The Apple Car was originally not even going to have a steering wheel or pedals. That plan was quickly adjusted: the car would only be self-driving on the highways. This also appears to be too much to ask for the release in 2028, so the Apple Car only offers support when driving on highways. Apple’s first car reportedly functions the same as Tesla’s cars.
In this scenario, the car will of course have a steering wheel and pedals. This is the result of pressure exerted by Apple’s management. Tim Cook has therefore had to devise a new strategy to at least get the Apple Car onto the market. The car will therefore be a lot less autonomous than planned, which is why the revised plan is now being discussed again with potential European partners.
Last chance for Project Titan
According to insiders, this is an important moment for the Apple Car. Since the founding of Project Titan, the big-name team behind the Apple Car, there have been many rumors about the car’s release. For a moment it seemed that the autonomous Apple Car would not even reach the finish line; the team that produces the car was temporarily disbanded. Work on the project has resumed since 2022.

If we are to believe the rumors, this is one of the last chances the Apple Car gets. So many concessions have now been made that it should now be possible for the company to produce an electric car. According to insiders, there is a chance that the plug will be pulled on the project if this fails again. The release of the Apple Car is now set for 2028, but that is still anything but certain.
