Use Bluetooth accessories with an Apple Vision Pro

You can operate the Apple Vision Pro in a progressive way. You can use the spatial computer with the help of hand gestures and eye tracking. If you prefer to operate the Vision Pro with a physical accessory, that is possible, but not with a Bluetooth mouse.

You can connect a game controller, Magic Keyboard and/or Magic Trackpad to the Vision. This allows you to operate the visionOS interface. Useful if you use word processors or Safari on the Vision. But a Bluetooth mouse is not possible, not even Apple’s Magic Mouse.

Bluetooth accessories and Apple Vision Pro

If desired, you can connect one or more Bluetooth accessories to the Apple Vision Pro. Think of AirPods or wireless headphones, but also a Bluetooth keyboard or game controller. However, Apple has drastically limited support for Bluetooth. For example, you cannot connect a Bluetooth mouse to the spatial computer.

Wireless headphones and AirPods

All current models of AirPods and Beats headphones can connect to Apple Vision Pro. Use AirPods Pro (2nd generation) with MagSafe charging case (USB-C) for best experienceincluding Lossless Audio and ultra-low latency.

Keyboards and trackpads

Most Bluetooth keyboards from Apple and other manufacturers can connect to Apple Vision Pro. In addition, the spatial computer also works with Apple Magic Trackpad. Please note that the Apple Vision Pro is not compatible with older models of Apple keyboards and trackpads that use removable batteries.

Wireless mouse

Although the Vision has support for Apple’s Magic Trakckpad, you cannot connect a Bluetooth mouse to the Vision Pro. Not even Apple’s Magic Mouse for Mac. This means that you can only connect a Magic Trackpad to the Vision if you want to use a ‘mouse pointer’ under visionOS, otherwise you have to rely on your eyes.

Hearing aids

All hearing aids with MFi designation can connect to Apple Vision Pro. Some models from Phonak, IQBud and Poco are also compatible.

Game controllers

All controllers with MFi (Made for iPhone) designation work with Apple Vision Pro. This includes controllers from Xbox, PlayStation, and any controller that works with iPadOS.

Third-party Bluetooth devices

Can you connect Bluetooth devices and accessories from other brands to the Vision Pro? For example, can you use wireless headphones from a brand other than Apple or Beats? Apple notes that compatibility with third-party Bluetooth devices and accessories is not guaranteed. If you have trouble connecting Apple Vision Pro to your third-party Bluetooth device, please contact the device manufacturer for assistance.

Pairing Bluetooth devices with Vision Pro

  • Enable the pairing mode of the Bluetooth device
  • Open Settings on the Vision Pro
  • Navigate to ‘Bluetooth’
  • Select the device from the list
  • Follow the steps to establish the connection

To connect AirPods and some models of Beats headphones, simply put them in your ears. Apple Vision Pro will automatically connect to them if they are already linked to your Apple ID and if they are not in use by another device. More information about using AirPods and Beats with Apple Vision Pro.

To connect compatible hearing aids to Apple Vision Pro, put the device in pairing mode. Then open Settings â–¸ Accessibility â–¸ Hearing aids â–¸ select the device to connect.
