Apple Watch empty way too quickly? Apple is working on a solution

Does your Apple Watch also run out of power too quickly? Then you are not the only one, because watchOS 10 causes problems with the battery of your Apple Watch. That’s why Apple is now working on a solution.

Apple releases watchOS 10.1

Apple released watchOS 10.1 two weeks ago, bringing a number of useful features to your Apple Watch. The main feature is Double Tap, which lets you control your Watch using hand gestures. You must have the latest Apple Watch for this, because only the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the Apple Watch Series 9 support this function.

In addition, NameDrop is now also available for the Apple Watch. This makes it much easier to share contact information between two Apple Watches or an Apple Watch and an iPhone. Here we tell you exactly how that works. Unfortunately, watchOS 10.1 also brought a problem to the Apple Watch, as the watch’s battery now reportedly drains far too quickly. This is what’s going on.

Battery problems with the Apple Watch

Users have been complaining about Apple Watch battery issues since installing watchOS 10.1. This is empty far too quickly since downloading the update. For example, a fully charged battery of the Apple Watch Series 9 would only last three hours. That is of course far too little, because according to Apple, the battery of the Apple Watch Series 9 lasts up to 18 hours.

Apple has not yet officially responded to the complaints, but in an internal memo the company confirms that it is already working on a solution. So Apple is aware of the problem and it seems that we can expect a new watchOS update soon. This new watchOS version should prevent your Apple Watch from draining too quickly.

There is a good chance that Apple is now focusing on the battery problem of the Apple Watch, releasing a small interim update. In that case, watchOS 10.1.1 will probably appear soon.
