With the assignment app in iOS it is possible to have all kinds of tasks performed on your iPhone automatically. It is not the simplest iOS app, but one of the most powerful, numerous things that you probably often perform manually, you can automate with the app.
For example, you can use the assignments app to automatically open an app immediately after activating your AirPods or other Bluetooth headset. If you place the AirPods in your ears, you can automatically have the music with Apple Music, Spotify, Netflix or another app open on your iPhone or iPad.
Below you can read step by step how you can create this personal automation. The steps are fairly simple and by performing everyone.
Open an app automatically when using AirPods
With the instructions below, a selected app is automatically opened if you are activated AirPods or another Bluetooth headset by placing it in your ear. You must of course have already linked the headset via Bluetooth with your iPhone or iPad.

1. Open the assignments app on your iPhone or iPad
2. Select ‘automation’ at the bottom of the screen.
3. Tap the ‘+’ symbol at the top right of the screen.
4. Under ‘Personal Automatisering’, select ‘Bluetooth’

5. Tap ‘choose’ behind ‘device’ and select your AirPods or another headset, then tap ‘Round’ at the top right of the screen.
6. Select that you want to carry out automation immediately and tap ‘Next’ at the top right of the screen.
7. In the overview that appears now you tap the ‘Open App’ tile.

8. In the task rule, tap ‘App’ and select App that wants to open, that can be the Apple Music App, but also Spotify, Netflix, YouTube, etc.
9. After selecting the app, tap ‘Round’ at the top right of the screen.
Your personal automation is set and is ready for use, which you can find in the automation screen of the assignment app under the heading Personal (10).
Now connect to your AirPods or other set headset and you will see that the selected app will be opened automatically below.
