Since iOS 17, Apple has renewed the Phone app with personal posters of contacts, which allows you to express yourself in a new way. When you call someone, it is possible to automatically share your contact poster with other iPhone users.
You can put together the contact posters yourself and provide them with your own photo or Memoji. You can edit it extensively and use colorful fonts that pop off the screen. You can also use contact posters in the Contacts app and show them when you receive calls from third-party phone apps.
Set up contact poster
You can create your own contact posters and add your own photo or Memoji. You can also edit them extensively and use colorful fonts that pop off the screen. To do this, go to the Contacts app â–¸ your personal contact card â–¸ Edit. Then tap on the profile photo or poster and create new ones via the plus button.
You can then determine what your poster should look like, so you can choose a photo, Memoji or monogram. You can then adjust the font of your name and certain (photo) effects. When you’re satisfied, tap Done to save the poster.
Automatic poster sharing
Do you want to automatically share your poster with other Apple users? Then you can activate this by opening your contact card in the Contacts application. Then tap ‘Contact photo and poster’, enable the option, adjust any details and choose a sharing option. You can also activate sharing using the steps below:
- Go to Settings’
- Tap ‘Messages’
- Select ‘Share name and photo’
- Select a desired option
Share options
- Share automatically: The poster will be visible to people you call or iMessage who have an iPhone. Also people who added you based on phone number or email address.
- Contacts only: The poster will only be shared with the people in your contact list.
- Always ask: iOS will ask if you want to share the poster with the person you are in contact with, for example in the Messages app.
Contact Posters is a creative feature intended to make iOS more personal. This way, not only your profile photo is shared, but also your poster with your contact list. When you call someone, the software will automatically display your poster in full screen, making the call immediately more personal.
