Changes in your vital functions can be an indication that something may be wrong with your health. Watchos 11 and newer can detect these changes and warn the user to consult a doctor.
All this is borne by the vital functions app. Once you have activated the option on your Apple Watch, it starts different measurements during your sleep. You can view the results in both a day and week display.
View measurement data vital functions app
After opening the vital functions app you immediately see the collected data from the last night. In the overview you see five balls for heart rate, breathing frequency, pole temperature, saturation and sleeping time.
If a ball is blue and falls within the blue range, it means that the measurement is within your normal values. A purple ball indicates a deviation up or down in the purple range.
A general assessment of the five values appears at the bottom of the app. If everything is in order (blue), you will see the status “normal”.

With the help of the digital crown you can browse through the different measurement data. Successively you will see the heart rate, breathing frequency, pole temperature, saturation measurement values and sleep duration.
In the event that there are no measurement results available for a certain day, this means that you did not worn your Apple Watch that night.

Activate weekly display in vital functions app

With the help of the calendar symbol then appears at the top left of the screen you can switch between the day and week display in the app.
It is a handy way to check how the values of the last night relate to the measurements of the last seven days. The digital crown is again available to browse between the different measurements.
When several blocks are displayed in the calendar symbol, the weekly display is active. By clicking on the symbol again, you will return to the day display with just a block in the symbol.
