Clear: this popular to-do app has a new version after 12 years!

Software company Impending Inc. has revived the once popular to-do app Clear after twelve years. And the new version is mostly free!

Clear: popular to-do app

The Clear app was a real hype twelve years ago. The app had a pleasant appearance with bright colors, animations and sound effects. All this ensured that the app, which at the time came from Realmac, generated high download and sales figures.

The app has now been taken over by a software supplier Impending Inc. And Clear has given it a modern look. This means, among other things, that Clear’s basic functionality is now free. Users can purchase new themes for €2 each, which change the appearance of the to-do app.

‘Major revisions’ in Clear 2.0

After Clear was first released in 2012, Realmac continued to maintain the app for several years so that fans could continue using the to-do app. However, not much changed anymore. Clear 2.0, on the other hand, contains “major revisions” according to Impending Inc. As a result, the app has finally received a major update.

For example, there are currently over 100 themes to choose from and you can also use over 50 different fonts or even 50 different app icons if you wish. Fortunately, the simple, gesture-based operation of the to-do app has not changed.

Clear 2.0: synchronization and backups

Clear 2.0 is available for the iPhone and iPad. Synchronization via iCloud is possible, but you can also choose to make local backups. Theme purchases can be restored to your iPhone and iPad if you purchased something on one device or the other.

to do app

The operation of to-do app Clear 2.0 is designed in such a way that completing to-do’s gives a feeling of satisfaction. That works well in practice for many people. But if it’s too much of a gimmick for you, you can of course continue using Apple’s Notes app for your to-do lists.
