Customize the first day of the week in Google Calendar

You can decide for yourself on which day the week starts in Google Calendar. Whether you think Sunday, Monday or Saturday is the first day of every week.


Especially in religious circles, the view prevails that Sunday is the first day of the week and Saturday (Sabbath) the seventh and last day. It also says so in some diaries and calendars. Indicate the day your week starts on Google like this:

  • Open the Internet program.
  • Go to Google Calendar via calendar.google.com
  • Log in if you are not already logged in.
  • Click on the gear at the top right.
  • click on Institutions.
  • Click on the left side Show options.
  • click on Start week on.
  • Choose Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

In the Google Calendar app, you can indicate on which day your week starts:

  • Tap the app agenda from Google.
  • Tap the three hyphens.
  • Scroll down and tap Institutions.
  • Tap on General.
  • Tap on Beginning of the week.
  • Tap on Saturday, Sunday or Monday.
