Edge uses Bing as its search engine. Prefer standard search with Google? That is of course also possible.
Search engine in Edge
If you search for information in Edge via the address bar, you will see that the search engine Bing is used for this. Why? Bing is Microsoft’s search site. This company also makes Windows and the browser Edge. It is therefore not surprising that Edge uses this search engine. But many people prefer to search with Google. You too? Then change the default search engine.
Set Google as your search engine
Change the default search engine in Edge like this:
- Open the browser Edge.
- Click on the button with the three dots at the top right.
- click on Institutions.
- Click on the left Privacy and Services.
- Scroll down and under ‘Services’ click Address bar.
- Click on the drop-down menu next to ‘Search program used in the address bar’.
- click on google.
Google is immediately the default search engine.
