Do air molecules exist?

Asker: Claesen, age 13

Answer

Best,

Air molecules per se do not exist because air is not a pure gas but a mixture of gases, namely oxygen (about 20%), nitrogen (about 79%) and a little carbon dioxide. These are molecules! So air consists of a mixture of oxygen molecules, nitrogen molecules and carbon dioxide molecules.
