Do coyotes, foxes, jackals and dogs descend from the gray wolf? How was this proven?

In my search for the origin of the dog, I was answered here that every dog, including the greyhound, descends from the gray wolf and that this was proven by DNA.

However, it says here that fox, jackal and coyote have their share.

It is indeed 100% certain that the dog (any breed) descends exclusively from the gray wolf. This is based on morphological research and DNA research. In addition, it appears that the dog is only descended from the Eurasian wolf. There is still debate about which subspecies is (are) the ancestor(s) of the dog.
