Do you use other vocal cords to sing?

Your voice sounds different when you sing and when you sing something, you don’t just say it.

Do you still have vocal cords or do you use them in a different way than when you talk?

Asker: Maud, 13 years old

Answer

You only have one pair of vocal cords that you use to talk and sing.

When you sing you use them a little differently than when you talk. This way you will pay more attention to the pitch of your voice and the power of your voice.

There are singers who do not sing but speak during their songs and there are also those who sing when they are speaking.

Kind regards,

Do you use other vocal cords to sing?
