Does Siri keep talking? This is how you put an end to it on your iPhone

Since 2011, Apple’s smart assistant has become a godsend in the lives of iPhone users. From simple tasks such as giving the weather forecast to switching on your smart lighting; the voice assistant is always ready. The presence of the voice assistant at times when you don’t ask for it, however, is irritating. Time to put an end to it!

Siri joins the conversation on your iPhone

Open the Settings from your iPhone and go to Siri and Search. Probably state Allow Siri on lock switched on. You just need to turn this off. If you don’t use your iPhone for a while, the smart assistant can’t be turned on accidentally.

If you’re not really into Siri at all, you can also simply turn off calling the smart assistant. Switch Listen to “Hey Siri” from. It is then still possible to call up the assistant via the side button, although you have to Press the side button for Siri then of course turn it on.

Disable on other devices

Are you constantly harassed by Apple’s voice assistant while working behind your Mac or MacBook? Here too, you can nip the love-hate relationship in the bud by disabling the smart assistant. Tap the Apple icon in the top left corner and open the System Preferences. Then press Siri and switch Activate Ask Siri from.

Apple’s smart assistant is also regularly activated unsolicited on an Apple Watch. To stop this, all you need to do is watchapp on your iPhone and the setting for Siri to open and turn off. With AirPods, you go to the bluetooth settings of your wireless earphones on your iPhone. Make sure that pressing the left or right earpiece does not activate the voice assistant. Your AirPods and iPhone must be connected to each other.
