With your iPhone’s night mode, you can take the perfect picture at any time of the day. Sometimes this handy function also turns on when you don’t want it to. Fortunately, you can also turn off the automatic night mode. OMT editor Sabine explains how to do that.
Thanks to the night mode, your iPhone can take better photos in the dark. Depending on the amount of ambient light, it may take a while for your phone to take a photo. It is important that you keep the device still. Without a tripod, that’s easier said than done. That is why you sometimes want the night mode off rather than on.
iPhone: for example, night mode does not turn on automatically
By default, night mode turns on automatically when you open your iPhone’s camera app and the ambient light is low. If you want to take a quick snapshot, the night mode makes this difficult. This way you ensure that the function does not switch on automatically.
To prevent night mode from turning on automatically, you need an iPhone with iOS 15 or later. Go to the Settings from your device and press Camera. Press Save settings and make sure Night mode is enabled.

And so the function remains off
Now open your camera app and turn off night mode manually. If you close the camera and open it again, you will see that your iPhone has remembered your last setting and night mode is no longer activated automatically.
If you need night mode anyway, you can simply switch it on manually. Don’t forget to turn off night mode when you’re done, as your iPhone will remember your last setting.

Also check these settings
In addition to remembering the night mode setting, the same set of settings lets you determine which camera mode your iPhone should show when you open the camera app. If you’re a fanatical filmmaker, you can let the video mode open automatically.
In addition, there are options for filters, depth settings, exposure and Live Photos. When you make the sliders green, the last settings are saved. Playing with the sliders will save you a lot of time and frustration in the future.
