You can do this during Serious Request 2015
Since 2004, 3FM has been organizing the Serious Request event every year in which three DJs are locked up in a glass house in the week before Christmas. There they make a non-stop radio broadcast, without food and for six days. People and companies can request pictures for charity for a fee. In addition, a lot of activities are organized, which you can follow with the official app. From the home screen, you can check news and map out routes to certain locations, among other things.
The screen is divided into four ‘routes’: Experience Heerlen, Food, Young & Urban and Smart. The first shows all the activities taking place in the city during Serious Request 2015. On each activity you can click through for additional information, the date/time and the location. Via Food you will find eateries near the glass house.
Young & Urban shows performances by street musicians and various workshops that you can follow. Smart refers to the ‘smart services’ that you can use during the event. Think of charging your smartphone (or your body) or taking a ride on a VR roller coaster. In addition, there is an interactive screen and a ‘Roman’ bathhouse on the square. During Serious Request 2015, campers can go to an indoor campsite, where you can rent a sheltered tent to spend the night.
