A few years ago, everyone was introduced to augmented reality thanks to Pokemon Go. Microsoft is now doing something similar with Minecraft: Earth, a new game that lets you place virtual structures in the real world. The game has been fully translated into Dutch, which makes it a lot more accessible for the younger players among us.

Minecraft: Download Earth

Once you’ve downloaded the game, sign in with your Microsoft account (or create one) and start playing. Minecraft: Earth is all about collecting tools and building blocks to create new creations.

Virtual chickens in the real world

By unlocking baseplates as you level up, you can place more and more new creations in the world. In this way, for example, you put down a few virtual square meters on a real lawn, where a Minecraft chicken is walking around and a tree has been placed.

While Minecraft: Earth is free to download and play, there are also in-app purchases in the form of rubies. These can be used to buy special builds in the in-game store.

Developer Mojang is gradually rolling out the game around the world and from today it is also the turn of the Netherlands. This is still a so-called early access version, which is not yet completely finished. So keep in mind some bugs and necessary updates in the coming weeks and months.
