Supplying energy back to the grid will yield less money for some owners of solar panels, because more costs will be charged. Storing energy at home is therefore becoming increasingly attractive, which is why EcoFlow has introduced the EcoFlow PowerOcean and DC-Fit.
EcoFlow offers many useful products, such as the EcoFlow DELTA 2 Max portable power station, the portable EcoFlow Wave 2 air conditioner and heater, the Blade robotic lawnmower and the portable Glacier cool box. Now EcoFlow comes with the EcoFlow PowerOcean and DC-Fit. When you generate energy by means of solar panels and do not actually use it, you supply it back to the grid. This costs the energy companies more and more work and money and they are struggling with the costs. Some companies in this sector are therefore considering charging owners of solar panels extra for these costs. Energy supplier Vandebron has already announced this and that will save Vandebron customers with solar panels between 10 and 20 euros per month.
Use or save it
The simplest solution to not feed back energy is to use it. You let the washing machine run on sunny days, you connect the electric bicycle and the car to the charger, and so on. There is also a limit to this and then there is only one thing left, store your excess energy. This means that a storage facility must be installed in the house. This technique is becoming more and more attractive and simpler.
EcoFlow makes solar energy storage possible for everyone
EcoFlow wants to make individuals and families independent by using sustainable energy solutions. The storage of (solar) energy is an important pillar in this. And that is why EcoFlow puts a lot of time and energy into these products. The PowerOcean and PowerOcean DC Fit are the result of this. With the Ecoflow PowerOcean you can efficiently and safely store energy from your solar panels to use it at a later time.
EcoFlow PowerOcean
The PowerOcean is resistant to low temperatures and has an IP68 rating. Therefore it can be mounted outside. The system consists of a 10 kW hybrid inverter, 5 kWh battery for the actual storage and the software in the form of an app and a web portal. In addition to the easy installation of the Ecoflow PowerOcean, there is another major advantage. The system is very easy to expand with extra batteries. The 5 kWh battery can be easily stacked without installation and expanded to a maximum capacity of 45 kWh.
In brief
* Ecoflow PowerOcean is a 3-phase solar energy storage system, consisting of a 10kW hybrid inverter with 800V battery input and 5kWh batteries for storage.
* The basic capacity of the storage is an 800V 5kWh battery and can be expanded (possibly later) to a maximum of 45 Kwh.
* 15 year warranty, 6000+ charge cycles, CATL LFP battery cells and SG ready.
* Due to the IP65, heat and cold protection.
* Connected in parallel, so always in operation.
* Easy and fast installation and receives OTA updates.

EcoFlow PowerOcean DC Fit
Retrofitting is adding new technology to existing devices. That is exactly what makes the EcoFlow PowerOcean DC Fit unique. You simply ‘hang’ the PowerOcean DC Fit between the solar panels and the existing inverter. The PowerOcean DC Fit is a variation on the standard version. You can easily connect this product to your current solar panels and inverter and then store the unused solar energy. Here too you can stack the 5 kWh batteries to a maximum of 45 kWh and use the app and web portal to manage the energy.
EcoFlow also thinks about the practical side of such devices. For example, the PowerOcean and the PowerOcean DC Fit can also be placed outside the house. Thanks to the IP68 certificate, you can also mount it under the carport, on the facade or in the garage. In winter, the system heats the batteries to ensure optimal operation.
Availability
The EcoFlow PowerOcean is available in the Netherlands from 1 July. Consumers can register with their email address on the eu.EcoFlow.com website for free quotes. The PowerOcean DC Fit will be available at a later date.
