Expand, downgrade, or adjust iCloud storage

Using iCloud Drive and iCloud Photos, you can store files such as photos, documents and other files in iCloud. In addition, many more files are stored in iCloud, such as backups, emails, app data, etc.

What is iCloud and how does Apple’s online storage service work? You can read this in our extensive iCloud manual. You get 5 GB of storage for free as standard. This is enough to sync personal data and keep backups for one or two devices. If you want more, you can purchase extra storage and also get access to iCloud+.

Purchase additional iCloud storage

As an Apple user you can choose between iCloud storage for yourself, the whole family or by using Apple One. Apple offers four different plans for iCloud storage, which you can find below. You can change the storage at any time.

Do you use family sharing? Then you can share the storage space of 200 GB or higher with all family members. You can read exactly how that works here.

Apple One: Extra affordable

Apple One is one all-in-one subscription that bundles four Apple services. It’s the easiest way to enjoy all your favorite Apple services for one discounted price. The bundles consist of Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud and are available in the Netherlands and Belgium in two variants: Individual and Family.

The iCloud storage differs per subscription, for example the individual subscription contains 50GB of storage, the family subscription 200GB. In the article below you can read how you can take out an Apple One subscription.

Pay for iCloud storage without a credit card

You can expand your storage via iOS or macOS and adding a credit card is recommended. That is also the most frequently asked question: is it possible to pay for iCloud storage without a credit card? Yes, that is possible, but you must remain alert. It is possible to expand the storage using Apple Gift Card, Apple ID balance, PayPal, iDeal or Bancontact.

Additional privacy options with iCloud+

The iCloud+ service is an extension of the current iCloud functions, but focused on privacy. It costs nothing extra with a paid subscription and ensures that you are even better protected online. For example, you can use iCloud Private Relay to hide your internet activity, hide your email address from all your accounts, and enjoy extensive HomeKit Secure Video support.
