Find a song on Spotify

Spotify can be used via a program on the computer, a website or app. You can search for a song on any device.

Search for a song through the program on the computer as follows:

• Click in the search bar at the top left.
• Type your search term. This can be the song title, the artist name, or both. The more precise the search term, the better the results will be.
• As you type, the results appear in the main window. The top result may be the number you are looking for. Move the mouse over the image. Click the play button that appears to play it.
• If the first result is not what you are looking for, click on the right next to ‘Numbers’ Look at everything to see all song suggestions.
• Hover over the desired song and click the play button that appears before the title.

Search for a number via the app on your phone or tablet as follows:

• Open the app Spotify.
• Click on the menu at the bottom To search.
• Tap the Artists, Songs, or Podcasts bar.
• Type your search term. This can be the song title, the artist name, or both. The more precise the search term, the better the results will be.
• The results will appear as you type.
• If the song you’re looking for doesn’t appear, change the search term or tap . at the bottom of the suggestions Show all songs.
• Do you see the number you are looking for? Tap it.
• Unfortunately, it is not possible to play the song directly with a free subscription. In the Spotify app, songs are always in a playlist, which you can only play in shuffle mode (in random order) with a free subscription. Tap on shuffle to start the music. Tap the right arrow next to the play button to skip to the next song. With a bit of luck you will quickly find the number you were looking for. However, you can only skip a song 6 times per hour. This is another limitation of a free Spotify subscription.

• Go to the web player from Spotify.
• Click at the top login.
• Enter the login details and click login or log in via Facebook.
• Click in the menu on the left To search.
• Type your search term. This can be the song title, the artist name, or both. The more precise the search term, the better the results will be.
• The results will appear as you type.
• Hover over the desired song and click the green play button that appears.
