For example, iOS 12 provides more insight into your iPhone battery usage

From iOS 11.3, Apple shows how your iPhone battery is doing, but with iOS 12, the company is taking a big step further. This is how the new battery statistics work.

That’s how the new iOS 12 battery stats work

Apple is working with iOS 12 to give you more insight into the way you use your iPhone and iPad. This mainly happens thanks to the new Screen Time function in iOS 12, but the battery settings will also give you new insights.

IOS has long had options to see which apps consume the most energy, but now Apple is taking it a big step further. From now on you will see a handy graph that shows exactly at which times of the day your battery is most heavily burdened.

For example, iOS 12 provides more insight into your iPhone battery usage

This is linked to your iPhone usage, so that you can see whether the usage of your iPhone is coinciding with the decrease in your battery life. If this is not the case, there is probably an app running in the background that drains your battery at a rapid pace.

You activate the iOS 12 battery statistics as follows:

  1. Open the Settings app;
  2. Tap on ‘Battery’;
  3. View the battery level for the last 24 hours and 10 days.

In these two graphs it is therefore important to keep an eye on whether the top overview is roughly the same as the graph below. Below the two graphs – just like in previous iOS versions – this is broken down per app, so that you can quickly see which app requires the most from the battery.

iOS 12 is now available for all iPhones and iPads that also ran iOS 11. In the review below you can read all about the new update, with which Apple puts stability and improving performance first.
