With the relatively new Franz you can finally combine them in one environment. After the installation you indicate which programs you want to use with Franz. These are then displayed in a central window. 
You can use Franz for free. With the paid variant, you can use multiple accounts for a messaging service, among other things. At the time of writing, the number of supported services is expanding so that the list becomes more and more complete.
Franz is an open source program and has a relatively large community† This has a positive impact on the speed at which new features are released and the speed at which any errors in the software are corrected. In addition, a relatively large number of platforms are supported. The software is available for Windows, Linux and MacOS. In addition, a mobile app is available.
To use the service, you must always log in directly to the relevant messaging service. So the login details are not shared with Franz.
