From now on you can enter destinations in Flitsmeister with your voice

Flitsmeister can now be operated with your voice, now that voice control has been added. In addition, the app will now warn against slippery conditions. This is how the new functions work.

Flitsmeister voice control: quickly set up your navigation

Entering a destination in Flitsmeister becomes a lot easier. Thanks to an update, voice control has been added to the app. A microphone has been incorporated in the search bar in the ‘For you’ tab, which lets you record the location.

This allows you to set up your navigation faster, especially if you don’t have hands free for a while. Although you still have to select voice control and the suggested address on the screen, not entering an address manually saves a lot of effort.

The app that has grown by warning motorists about speed cameras is increasingly becoming a fully-fledged navigation app. Competitors such as Apple Maps, Waze and Google Maps have long offered the option of controlling navigation by voice.

With the previous update, warnings have already been added for road works on bad road surfaces and your parking location will be saved from now on. In the new version 7.13, Flitsmeister is clearly preparing its users for the winter.

Because from now on you will also receive a warning if there is slippery conditions on a route. A pop-up message will then appear after starting the app, which will disappear by itself. The data to determine whether it is slippery on your route, Flitsmeister can request from the renowned weather institute Dark Sky.

Flitsmeister may still be on CarPlay this year

Flitsmeister announced in June that it is working on an app for Apple CarPlay, and it is now clear what this version will look like. As with other CarPlay versions of navigation apps, the (maximum) speed is shown at the top right and the navigation instruction at the top left.

At the bottom left you will find notifications about delays, speed cameras and more. Flitsmeister hopes to release the update for CarPlay this year. Since iOS 12, CarPlay has also improved considerably, as third-party navigation apps are now allowed.

This way you no longer have to use Apple Maps to get from A to B. Read in this overview which navigation apps are coming to CarPlay or which are already available.
