Gigit: Create Your Own Concert Archive With This Untapped For Live Music

Attention music and concert lovers: with Gigit there is finally an app in which you can make a complete overview of all the artists you have seen live. The Dutch app is available from today.

With Untapped for craft beer, Runkeeper and Strava for your runs, and Goodreads for your book collection, the makers of Gigit had plenty of examples of apps that make it easy to build an archive.

The app makes it just as easy as the names above to register and rate concerts you attended. In addition to the name of the artist, you also enter the date of the concert and the concert hall where the show took place.

Then you give a rating between one and five, a one-word review and an optional description. Finally, add a photo to complete your registration. This will create a nice archive (or Liveline) of all the shows you’ve seen in no time. In the ‘Liveline’ tab of the app you can see a chronological overview of your concert history with large maps.

Although Gigit only appears today, this doesn’t mean that all the concerts you saw before the app’s release can no longer be added. Retroactively, you can add anything you used to attend. So dig into your memory (or dive into your mailbox looking for old tickets) and complete your complete concert history.

Add your friends to Gigit

Gigit does exactly what you expect from such an app and looks stylish too. As a nice extra, you can also follow other users, to keep an eye on each other’s ratings. The only drawback is that you have to find the date that belongs to a concert yourself. In an ideal situation you would enter the name of a band and the concert hall, after which Gigit automatically shows the corresponding date. Let’s hope such a feature can be added in a future update.

Despite that, Gigit is an app that concert lovers (like yours truly) have been looking for for a long time. At a time when physical concert tickets are becoming increasingly rare, it’s great that there is now an accessible digital way to save, rate and browse all your concerts later. Gigit is available for free for iOS starting today and coming to Android at a later date.
