With Siri Shortcuts, Gmail users can now create a shortcut, which will send you an email via Siri. You must first set this up yourself in the Gmail app. We show you how to do this.
Send an email with Siri Shortcuts
If you’re using the default iOS Mail app, it was already possible to send an email via Siri. But if you always use the Gmail app, this couldn’t be done yet. From now on, Siri Shortcuts is also available to compose an email in the Gmail app. You must first set this up yourself in the app. You do that as follows:
- Open the Gmail app;
- Tap the three bars in the top left to go to the menu;
- Tap ‘Settings’ at the bottom;
- Choose the account for which you want to set the Siri command and tap ‘Siri Shortcuts’;
- Tap the plus sign behind ‘Send email’ to add the shortcut;
- Here you can set what to say to have Siri perform the command;
- Tap Add to Siri to add the command to Siri Shortcuts.
The assignment has now also been added to your Assignments app. Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to dictate an email and set a recipient. It is therefore especially useful to open a new e-mail, after which you can immediately start typing.
