The goldenrod was used over 700 years ago due to its healing effects in kidney and bladder complaints. Even today, it is mainly used to treat urinary tract diseases.

The Latin name of the goldenrod is Solidago and means “healthy”. With this name, it is no wonder that the plant has long been used as a medicinal plant.

Botanist: Inside, the goldenrod differentiates between two types:

  • Real goldenrod: It reaches a height of about one meter and is native to Europe.

  • Giant gold rod: It becomes up to 2.5 meters tall and originally comes from North America. In the meantime, however, it is also represented in Europe.

Both types are mainly used for diseases of the urinary tract. The positive effect of the goldenrod in diseases of the urinary tract has been scientifically proven. But the medicinal herb should also help with other diseases: like this at

  • Arthritis,
  • rheumatic diseases
  • and gout.

However, the effectiveness of the goldenrod has not been proven for such applications.

Since goldenrod supports the kidneys in detoxification, it relieves the skin as a detoxification organ.

The ingredients of the two types of goldenrod differ only slightly, in the basic structure and in their effects they are very similar. They contain:

  • Flavonoid
  • Triter
  • essential oils
  • Tannins

Both the proportion of flavonoids and the triterpensa apon are significantly higher in the giant gold rod. For this, the real goldenrod also has phenolglycosides, which are completely missing from the giant gold -off. Phenolklykosids are primarily attributed to a draining effect.

However, the effect of the goldenrod cannot be attributed to a certain ingredient. Rather, it is the combination that triggers different effects in the human body (summary of the studies):

  • diuretic
  • drazing
  • detoxifying
  • anti -inflammatory
  • light -hearting

On the other hand, sufficient liquid is necessary to rinse the derivative urinary tract (urinary bladder, urethra and urethra) in order to exhaust germs.

In addition to finished preparations in capsules, you will also receive loose dried gold rods in the pharmacy. Goldrod tea is a good remedy, especially in the case of bladder complaints.

Preparation:

  • Fill your tea string with about two to four grams (a heaped teaspoon) dried goldenrod.
  • The herb then poured the herb with about 250 milliliters of boiling water.
  • Remove the plant parts after about five to ten minutes.

Dosage recommendation: You shouldn’t consume more than six to 12 grams of goldenrod herb every day.

You can also mix the goldenrod with other diuretic medicinal plants to support your body in urinary tract diseases. Among other things, they are suitable for this:

  • Birch leaves
  • Bear grape leaves
  • Field box

Note: If the symptoms do not improve within a week using the goldenrod, you should see a doctor. People with edema who are caused by heart failure or kidney dysfunction should not be used.
